Hi everyone! We are pretty excited about this post because... it's our first Christmas card post! :) 'Cause it's December first! Yayyy!

Anyways, on with the show... we have made a HoHoHo Christmas card to share with you. But not only are we sharing this card with you today, we are also sharing cookies with you! Like, we're literally sharing them with you. Because this is a giveaway post. :) You have until Friday at 7 p.m. central to comment on this post for a chance to win some free cookies. Monday Munchies

-Deviled Eggs-

This is a great way to arrange your deviled eggs for Thanksgiving, holiday parties, or any other occasion! Or of course, you can do these for a yummy Monday Munchies snack :)

If you have a tray similar to this, that's great! But if you don't, that's fine as well. Just place the deviled eggs on a plate and put a small bowl in the center of the plate filled with your choice of decor. (We chose different kinds of cute, mini tomatoes.)

To finish off the eggs, (once they are done being made with the pale yellow filling in each one), sprinkle a bit of paprika on them. Then, add a teeny, chopped green olive and Bon Apitite! :)

Hey everyone! Yes, we know today is a Tuesday but we didn't post this munchie yesterday, so today it's Tuesday Munchies! Not as catchy, but we'll make it work. ;)

Ants on the Sand

~Instead of Ants on a Log, we created Ants on the Sand for a more sweet treat.
`

Ingredients:

*Graham crackers

*Creamy peanut butter

*Chocolate chips

Directions:

1. Spread as much peanut butter as you like onto a graham cracker.

2. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.

3. Enjoy! We certainly did!

"No Measurements" Mac 'n' Cheese

"No Measurements" Mac 'n' Cheese

Ingredients:

* any type of pasta you enjoy

*shredded cheese of any type

*a pinky size of butter

*milk

* pepper (optional)

Directions:

1. Cook some pasta.

2. Once it's drained and ready to go, put on low heat. Stir in a piece of butter the size of your pinky.

3. Let it melt. Then cover the top of all the pasta with shredded cheese. Make sure you can't see any cheese. Turn heat on to low/medium.

4. Stir in the cheese and then pour a little milk to help stir it up. Keep adding as much as you need to if you want it thin. Try not to put in too much if you like it thick.

5. Once it's all stirred up, get a spoon and taste it. Add more cheese if you need and follow step 4.

6. Devour! It really is delicious!

It also goes great with Capri Sun for a afternoon snack or small midday meal. Maybe add some ants on a log with them too. We'll have that recipe up pretty soon too so make sure you look out for ants on a log:)

Where have we been?

We are so so so so so so sorry that we haven't posted since what...August 11. That's like a month ago. What's been with us. We haven't even sent out the September newsletter. Our excuse...Highschool. It's been stressful at times trying to post, do our homework and all the other typical things so we haven't posted. We will definitely have something up soon and we are so sorry. We're going to skip the monthly newsletter for this month but we will absolutely get back into schedule. Come back real soon and we'll have the Monthly Cookie for September up:)

Monthly Cookie: Marshmallow Bars

Marshmallow Bars

Ingredients:
*3 oz. bittersweet chocolate
*1 stick sweet butter
*1 cup light brown sugar
*2 eggs
*1/2 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
*1 tsp. vanilla extract
*1 cup chopped pecans
*about 3 cups large white marshmallows

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350*F. Grease

Watermelon Cookies

This is our Monthly Cookie for July. We didn't post it last month, so here it goes!

This is my aunt's cut-out cookie recipe. It's great! :)

Watermelon Cookies
-
Ingredients:
-
*1 cup butter (no substitutes), softened
*1 cup sugar
*1 egg
*3 tablespoons milk
*1 teaspoon vanilla extract
*3 cups flour
*1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
*1/2 teaspoon salt
-

Directions:

1. Cream together butter and sugar.

2. Beat in egg, milk, and vanilla.

3. Stir together, then add in flour, baking powder, and salt gradually.

4. Roll out dough to a thickness of about 1/4". (Flour your rolling pin and surface as needed.)

5. Use a circle cookie cutter to cut out the shapes. Then, use a knife to cut the cirlce in half, so it looks like a watermelon slice.

6. Put the 'watermelon slices' onto a cookie sheet with parchment paper. (If you don't have parchment, use cooking spray.)

7. Bake at 400*F. (Small cookies bake for 5-8 minutes, larger ones for 8-13.) Just be sure to watch them carefully! :)

8. While they are baking, get your frostings ready. You will need light pink, dark green, light green, white, and black frostings. Put each color of frosting (except for the pink) into a seperate plastic bag. Now, cut a little opening in the corner of each bag so that when you squeeze the frosting out, it can come out in a fine line. (You might want to try this out on a 'not up to date' newspaper before you do it on the cookies.

9. Once the cookies have baked and cooled, frost them with the pink.

10. Now, make a fine line at the edge of the 'watermelons' with the dark green, as seen in the picture(s).

11. After that, make tiny light green stripe marks on the dark green strip.

12. Make a white line just above the dark green strip.

13. Lastly, squirt out the black frosting where the seeds should go.

14. And now of course........ ENJOY!!

Craft Corner

You can use this craft for decoration in just about any season or in a specific room. Carly keeps this one in her room all the time and we made an orange and black one for a Halloween party that we hosted. To make it, all you need is a styrofoam ball (any size), sequins, stick pins and two different sized beads...small and medium sized.

How to make it:

Put (in this order) small bead, large bead and then the sequin onto the stick pin. Then stick it anywhere in the ball. This is where the top of your ball will be. Then continue to stick the bead filled pins in a line down the ball until you reach the first pin you put in. Once you have a string of beads around the ball, then do it the opposite way so that you will have a cross. Then fill in the four sections and your ball is finished. You can choose any colors to do this in and it can take anywhere from 20-120 minutes depending on how large your styrofoam ball is and your patience level.

Grandma's Oatmeal ChocoChip Cookies

This is a picture of the diliscious cookie dough that this recipe makes. And as you can tell, most of the cookie dough from this bowl is gone! That's because us + our families ate it! It's sooo good and irrisistable. You just cover the bowl of cookie dough up with saran wrap and stick it in the fridge and then eat it whenever ya want! (Or all the time, 24/7 like I do! :)

And here's the recipe you can use to make this mouthwatering cookie dough, or of bake the cookie dough into cookies of course!

Grandma's Oatmeal ChocoChip Cookies

---Ingrediants:

*1 cup softened butter or other shortening

*2 eggs

*1 cup sugar

*1/2 cup brown sugar

*2 tsp. vanilla

*1 and 1/3 cup flour

*2 cups oats

*1 tsp. baking soda

*1 tsp. salt

*1 pkg. chocolate chips

---Directions:

1. Beat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla with softened butter/shortening until light and fluffy.

2. Add the dry ingrediants and blend.

3. Add the oats and chocolate chips and stir into the mix.

---To bake the cookies:

4. Now, Drop by little spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.**

5. Bake at 375* for 8- 10 minutes.

**You can also use parchment paper! :)

Yummmm Now you enjoy!

We were reading a post from the Lost Button Studio about how she hadn't posted in a while because she just needed a break. We thought that was a great idea (to take a break) because we have been so stressed trying to get everything up in time so that is why we haven't posted in a while. You definitely can expect a lot more in August and we still will post a little bit this following week.

Also, the winner of the poll said that they didn't mind if the Craft Corner was not on Saturday so it will still be weekly just not on Saturdays anymore so come find it.

A Colorful Happy Birthday!

It's Kristina Werner's 56th Color Inspiration Challenge! And here are the colors we had to use:

We thought these colors would make a great Happy Birthday card (in celebration of Carly's birthday)! So that's what we did :)

To complete the Happy Birthday card there had to be a bow on it, right? So, like all beautifully wrapped gifts, we stuck a mini white sheer color bow in the top right corner.

Another idea we used was colaborating all different colored thread into a bow! And if you were wondering, the colors that were put into that multi-colored bow are... red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. (All the colors from the challenge, except for white.)

Baseball Cupcakes!

My brother had a baseball tournament this weekend and so I decided I would make some baseball cupcakes for the team! And let me just tell you, they very greatly appreciated them! Haha. :) BTW... They've won both their games so far! But they still have two more games to go. They won one of the games 18 to 5 and the other game they won 15 to 0! Yeah!

Anyways, here's how to make these super cute baseballs!

Baseball Cupcakes

Ingrediants:
~Vanilla cake mix
~Vanilla frosting*

~Red food dye

~Blue food dye

~Cupcake liners**

*We like Betty Crocker Whipped Butter Cream Frosting ;)

**I found the cutest cupcake liners at Carty City that were perfect for the occasion!

Directions:

1. Follow the directions on the box of your cake mix.

2. Take two small bowls and fill them with some of the vanilla frosting. Now take the red food dye and color one of the bowls of frosting red. Do the same with the blue food dye and the other bowl of frosting.

3. Get 2 piping bags and the tips you would like and screw the tips onto each bag. (We like the Wilton tip #3 and #4). Use a spoon to transfer the blue frosting into one of the bags and do the same with the red frosting. Set aside for now.

4. Once out of the oven and cooled, frost the cupcakes with the white vanilla frosting.

5. Take your piping bags that you have filled and get ready to start piping! First, use the bag of red frosting and make two curved lines at opposite sides, as in the pictures.

6. Now use the blue frosting bag to 'write' a player's baseball number in the middle of the two curved lines. (Again, use the pictures as references!)

7.Use a toothpick two make it look like the stitching on a baseball. (Also, see picture below).

8. Store in an airtight container and have them ready to serve at the next baseball game! :)

And if you have extra frosting, but you have no idea what to do with it, no worries! We have the perfect idea.....

.....Eat it!

That's what we did! Obviously... :)

Monday Munchies

Orange Blossom Special

Ingrediants:

*6 peeled orange slices

*Spoonful of strawberry yogurt

*Pinch of granola

*1 blueberry

Note- These are just the ingrediants needed to make 1 Orange Blossom Special! You can double, triple, etc the ingrediants in this recipe if you'd like to make more of them!

Directions:

1. Assemble the peeled orange slices onto a plate in which they look like the petals of a flower.

2. Add a dab of strawberry yogurt in the center where all the petals meet with your spoon.

3. Sprinkle some granola on the center where the yogurt is, as well as anywhere else you want it. You can put how ever much you want, we just used a pinch or two of the granola though.

4. To top it off, add a blueberry to the center as seen in the pictures! Yum! :)

Note- This treat makes for a very fun, deliscious, and healthy breakfast meal! Try it!

4th of July Cupcakes...

With a twist! A tye-dye twist, that is. I created some mini cupcakes for the fourth and they are certainly different from any regular cupcake! You can tell when you bite into them! :)

4th of July Tye-Dye Cupcakes

Ingrediants:

*Vanilla cake mix

*Vanilla frosting

*Mini cupcake holders

*Red dye

*Blue dye

*4th of July sprinkles

Directions:

1. Follow instructions on Cake mix box for cupcakes. But once the batter is in the cupcake holders, get your red and blue dye. Squirt some dye into the middle of each cupcake (before it's baked!)

2. Put into the oven and bake for 10 minutes if you are baking mini cupcakes. But if you are making regular sized cupcakes, follow directions on the box.

3. Once you've taken the cupcakes out of the oven, let them cool.

4. After they've cooled a while, take them out of the pan and frost them with white frosting.

5. Now, tye-dye them using red and blue frostings. (BTW... to make red and blue frostings, take two seperate little bowls and scoop white frosting into each one. Then, use your red dye to color one bowl of frosting and blue dye for the other.) To tye-dye the cupcakes, just spread around some of the colored frostings!

6. Use the 4th of July red, white, and blue sprinkles to finish them off! :) Tada!.... :)
And the batter made a LOT of these cute little cupcakes as you can see.... :)

Ideal Meal

Very smiple, very deliscious pasta! All you need are 5 simple ingrediants and your set.

Ingrediants:

*Noodles/pasta

*Prego Tomato Sauce

*Frozen chicken chunks

*Broccoli

*Parmasaun cheese

Dirctions:

1. Cook the pasta (doesn't matter what kind of pasta i.e. angel hair, bow tie, etc.) We used fusilli pasta.

2. Put frozen chicken chucks in the microwave for a minute or so (follow directions of the chicken package of course.)

3. As the pasta is cooking on the stove, put another pan on the stove and pour Prego tomato sauce, microwaved chicken chunks, and little pieces of broccoli in.

4. When they are both done cooking, strain the pasta and put into a bowl or on a plate.

5. Pour the mixed sauce on top and finish with some parmasaun cheese!

Craft Corner...Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!

Our Craft Corner today is a special thing for dad. If you haven't gotten him a gift and need something easy to make, try this. It's a special frame for the perfect picture of you and him that he can hang in his office, room or anywhere else. It is very easy and probably won't take you longer than 30 minutes. It'll definitely be a keeper.

All you need for this project is:

*a 6in by 6in piece of cardstock
*8 2in by 2in squares cut out of patterned paper
*either a mini 2in by 2in paper frame or make one with paper
*yarn
*a 2in by 2in cute picture of the two of you

Here's how to make it:

Thanks to Kristina Werner, we have this idea. She made a card kind of like this and we changed it and put our twist to it. First you need to use a EZ Runner or double-sided tape to attach the 2in by 2in pieces of paper around the outside edge. Then you can take your picture, put some adhesives on it and stick it down. Now, take your pre-made frame and use mini glue dots or tiny pieces of double-sided tape to attach it over your picture. If you don't have a frame already, you can take a 2 1/2 in. piece of paper and cut around the edge with a decorative scissor. Instead of putting your picture on first you can lay that on top of your homemade frame and then attach the frame to the cardstock. The last step is to attach yarn to the back of the cardstock and stick it in a bag or wrap it up and wait until tomorrow to give your treasure to him. Impress your dad with your artistic skills. :)

Brownie Pies

Brownie Pies!

A few days ago we were swimming and had a sweet tooth. We didn't know what to make but we wanted something cold and chocolatey. We came up with the creation brownie pies! It doesn't even have a specific recipe. You just put however much you want of everything into the pie crust and devour. Well this is how we make ours...

You need:

-mini graham cracker pie crusts
-brownies cut into little pieces
-vanilla ice cream
-chopped pecans
-caramel or chocolate sauce

First you cut the brownies up into little pieces (see above). Then you scoop some ice cream into a bowl and mix it up until it's creamy.

Once you have "creamified" your ice cream, scoop it into your pie crusts. Then place four to five brownie pieces on top of the ice cream. Stick it in the freezer for about 3 minutes.

Once you have taken the pies out of the freezer, squeeze some caramel and/or chocolate sauce over it and add some pecans.

Now your creation is done and you just have to eat it. Tell us how they turn out.

Craft Corner

Paper Candy!

For this Craft Corner we decided to make something a little bit sweet... Paper Candy! It's a super cute idea for invitations, party favors, etc. Let your imagination go wild! We got this idea from American Girl Magazine.

Well, there's just 5 easy steps and 5 things you need to do it! So what are you waiting for? :)

Materials Needed:

*Goodies

*Toilet paper tube

*Tissue paper

*Ribbon

*Cardstock paper

You can choose to decorate it with anything you like! For example... stickers, stamps, etc.

Directions:

1. Stuff your choice of goodies into the toilet paper tube.

2. Wrap the tube with tissue paper making sure nothing falls out.

3. Tie the ends of the tissue paper with ribbon.

4. Cover just the tube part (not the ends of the tissue paper) with cardstock paper.

5. Decorate any way you'd like to!

You can make this "Paper Candy", as we like to call it, with any theme you like! Here are a few that we liked:

Birthday Bonanza (see pictures)
Stuff with:
•ribbon
•birthday candles
•balloons (before the air is inside them)

Sweet Tooth
Stuff with:
•chocolates
•suckers
•any other candy

I'm Stuck on You
Stuff with:
•gum
•stickers
•fun bandaids

Holiday Cheer
Stuff with:
•jingle bells
•mints
•candy canes

Monthly Cookie of June #2

Homerun Tollhouse Cookie Bars

Ingrediants:

*2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
*1 tsp. baking soda
*1/2 tsp. salt
*1 cup (2 sticks) sweet butter
*3/4 cup granulated sugar
*3/4 cup unrefined light brown sugar
*2 tsp. vanilla extract
*2 eggs
*1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
*1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 375*F (190*C).

2. Grease a 9 x 13 in. pan.

3. Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt in large bowl.

4. Beat the butter, sugars, and vanilla extract together (in seperate bowl).

5. Beat the eggs into the butter mixture.

6. Stir the flour mixture, nuts, and chocolate chips into the butter mixture.

7. Spoon and flatten (see above picture) the batter into the pan.

8. Bake 25 minutes until golden and firm.

9. Take out of the oven and let it cool in the pan for at least 5 minutes.

10. Cut into squares and enjoy!!! :)

Makes: a dozen

Bake time: 25 minutes

*Note: We used 100% whole wheat flour and it still turned out great! They were a huge hit and were gone very fast!

KWerner Color Challenge 54

I absolutlely loved these colors the second I saw them! They are so fun! I made a 'parent to daughte' card. It says, "All the dreams I prayed you'd be are all the things you are. You were once my little girl and now my shining star." I thought this quote was adorable :)

We have a very special Monday Munchies for you all today! Carly and I made TWO trail mixes for this week's Monday Munchies! And for parties or special events, you can decorate them with ribbon, jars, etc. just like we did! The two trail mixes we've created, we are naming them this... S'mores trail mix and Candyland trail mix! Here they are and how to make them:

S'mores Trail Mix

Ingredients:
*Chocolate chips

*Popcorn

*Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal (or golden grahams)

*Marshmallows

Monthly Cookie of June #1

It's time, once again, for another monthly cookie! This month, we have something totally summer themed, totally double, and you're totally going to love it! And why we said "totally double", is because this month, we will be having TWO monthly cookies! Today, we are posting one of them, and on Friday we are posting the other one.

Also today, we have another special surprise! You could win a giftcard to Starbucks and all you have to do is comment on this post with your NAME and what you like about it! :) And don't forget to leave your name!!! That's the most important thing, if you didn't already notice. Haha. You will not be able to comment and win anymore by Friday. So get going! You can comment until Friday which is when we will be using random.org to chose a random comment from the comments on this post. The lucky winner, as we said before, will win a Starbucks giftcard! :)

And now for the monthly cookie...

For our first monthly cookie of this month, we made a pizza cookie and decorated it as a sun for summer!! :) Hope you love it!

Pizza Cookie~

Ingrediants:
*1 stick of butter
*1 cup of superfine sugar
*1 egg
*1 tsp of vanilla
*1 1/2 cups of flour
*1/2 tsp of baking soda

Directions:
1. Heat the oven to 350*F and put parchment paper over a pizza pan/baking sheet.
2. Beat butter and sugar together.
3. Add the egg and vanilla, beat.
4. Sift flour and baking soda into mixture and stir into batter.
5. Spread dough onto a pizza tray or baking sheet.
6. Bake for about 18 minutes, until golden.
7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool a while before frosting it.
8. Decorate however you want! (M&Ms, sprinkles, etc.)

I was so happy! I finally got the chance to use the vellum heart patterned paper that's been sitting with my other scrapbooking paper, at the bottom of the pile. But, thsi weekend, it was put to good use!

Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches:

Once again, this week we are dealing with ice cream! (Don't forget to vote on our poll to the left of the blog just under the "Welcome" segment) This cute little treat can be made just for an after school snack, or something more elegant, as you can see from some of the pictures below.

We made a few 4th of July ice cream sandwiches, some baby shower themed ice cream sandwiches, and a couple birthday ice cream sandwiches. We also made some just for a regular snackin' day!

Ingredients:

*Cookies

*Vanilla Ice Cream

*Sprinkles, pecans, candles, etc.**

**optional!

Directions:

1. If cookies aren't already made, bake them! (We used store-bought cookie dough to make the process much faster!)

2. Place a scoop of ice cream on one side of the cookie. (The side that was on the baking sheet.)

3. Put another cookie on top and smoosh together so that the ice cream spreads out to where you can roll on sprinkles, etc.

4. Pour sprinkles, etc into a (very) small bowl. Roll side of ice cream sandwich into bowl of sprinkles, pecans, etc.

Or if you are trying a birthday sandwich, stick a fun candle in the middle of the ice cream sandwich!

5. Enjoy! :) (Or put in freezer to store.)

The 4th of July one is a little deformed because I didn't take the picture fast enough when it started to melt :) but you get the picture!

Note~ Feel free to let your mind soar with creative ideas on how to decorate these! We've just given you a few ideas! :)

I think these colors were my favorite to work with out of all the color inspiration challenges we have participated in! I loved these colors, but I don't exactly know why. Haha. I think it's because these colors remind me of a beach :)

Have you ever been to Cold Stone Creamery? If you have, you'll know that everything about it is simply deliscious! But if you haven't, and you have no idea what I'm talking about...

Cold Stone Creamery is an ice cream shop. They have tons of ice cream flavors with tons of toppings, too. (They also have milkshakes, smoothies, etc.) You pick a size, pick an ice cream flavor, and pick any toppings you want. Then, they scoop out the flavor of ice cream that you wanted and put the topping you chose onto the (clean) counter. Hehe :) Next, they take two big spoons and mix it all together to make it creamy and delectable. There you go! BTW... This is why this week's TGiF poll is about ice cream! :) And don't forget to vote for your favorite ice cream flavor! (The TGiF poll is always on the right of our site, just under our 'Welcome!' segment.

The first creation I tried, was a 'Strawberry Pie' Cold Stone:

First, I cut up some strawberries into pretty little pieces.

Next, I scooped out some vanilla ice cream and sprinkled crushed graham cracker on top.

This is the ice cream with strawberries and graham cracker atop. We're ready to mix!

This is me mixing it all together, getting it 'creamified'. :)

The second Cold Stone creation we tried was your standard 'Cookie Dough'.

You put a few pieces of cookie dough on top of the vanilla ice cream you scooped. (I used 'Nestle Toll House Mini Cookies' Cookie Dough.)

Once again, mix it all up...

This one was very yummy... as you can tell by this photo. All gone!

For You Mom... Late

Here is the card carly gave to her mom on Mother's Day. The one Blair gave to her mother has not yet been photographed, but as soon as it is, it will be posted here for all to see! With this card, we used the rub-letters and a little handwriting of our own. This card was actually really small... just a little bigger than your standard tennis ball.

On the card Blair made her mom, she used something that we've never used before... vellum. If you've ever used vellum, comment below and tell us how you like it. We loved it and thought it looked pretty cool! For those of you who don't know what vellum is, we should have a video up in the next two weeks on how we use it.

The cute green flower button came from our Bag o' Buttons that we recently bought. It is such a cute idea (the Bag o' Buttons.) It contains tons of buttons of dofferent colors. We had a choice of a Bag o' Buttons containing darker colored buttons, or a Bag o' Buttons containing pastel colored buttons. We chose the pastels and you'll be seeing a lot more of our cards, etc. with those buttons. We love them. :)

For today, our snack menu includes an Apple & Cream Cheese recipe! They are super easy to make, and taste delicious!

Here you go!

Ingredients:
~1/2 cup Light Cream Cheese Spread
~2 tbsp. Sunflower Kernels, chopped
~1/4 cup raisins, chopped
~6 medium apples, cut in half, cored

Directions:

1. Mix cream cheese spread, sunflower kernels & raisins together.
2. Spread 1 1/2 Tbsp. of the cream cheese mixture into hollow of each apple half.
3. Serve & enjoy!

Yep. It's that easy! So go on... try it!!!

The Monthly Cookie... or Cake??

This month, (the month of May,) we have a special suprise... not just any cookie. Actually, not a cookie at all! This month, we have a Chocolate Fudge Peanut Butter Cup Cake! The name itself just makes my mouth water! :)

So before I get any further, I'd just like to show you all what this decadent cake looks like:

Oh my goodness... Well this cake is already all gone and just looking at it made me want more :)

Anyways, we got this recipe from http://www.bakerella.blogspot.com/ and just couldn't wait to try it out! So that is why you are looking at a cake right now, rather than a cookie :) Here's the recipe!

Makes: 16 servings
Chill: 1 hour
Bake: at 350 degrees F for 34 minutes
Prep: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

~1 box (18.25 ounces) devil's food cake mix
~3 eggs
~1 cup buttermilk
~1/2 cup vegetable oil
~2 cups chopped chocolate-covered peanut butter cups (about 8 ounces), plus more to garnish
~8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
~1 cup heavy cream
~1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat two 9-inch round cake pans with nonstick cooking spray. Line with waxed paper; coat paper.
2. In a large bowl, beat cake mix, eggs, buttermilk and vegetable oil on low for 30 seconds. Increase speed to medium-high; beat for 2 minutes, scraping down side of the bowl after 1 minute. Fold in 2 cups of the chopped peanut butter cups.
3. Divide batter between prepared pans. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 34 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let layers cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Turn out cakes onto wire racks and cool completely.
4. Place chopped dark chocolate in a medium-size bowl. Bring cream just to a boil and pour over chocolate. Whisk until chocolate melts. Add peanut butter and whisk until smooth.
5. Trim top of cake layers flat with a serrated knife. Put 1 cake layer on cooling rack and place on a baking sheet. Pour 1 cup frosting on top; spread evenly with a spatula. Top with remaining cake layer. Pour remaining frosting over the top, allowing it to spill over the sides. Smooth top and sides with spatula. Refrigerate 1 hour to set. Transfer cake to serving plate and garnish with chopped candy, if desired.

We accomplished all of this... but instead of dark chocolarte for the frosting, we used milk chocolate... and like Bakerella did, we used twice as many peanut butter cups, so we could put some (okay, a bunch) on the outside of the cake! :)

OMG It's Kristina's 50th Color Insporation Challenge! We've only been playing for a while, but we're already hooked!!! It's so fun! :D And we were definetley motivated by the prizes she has to offer! Seriously, if you haven't tried it, now is a great time to start and oh, what fun it is! So here are the colors we had to use this week... And Kristina indicated that we ONLY use these 5 colors this time, and that's exactly what we did :)

Today for Monday Munchies, we have a "little" thing called:

Mini Nachos

And the cool thing is, there are only 3 ingrediants:

*Scoop Chips

*Salsa

*Cheese

All you have to do is put some cheese onto the chips and stick them in the microwave for 25 seconds. Then, take them out and scoop some salsa on them (we like it chunky!) Then you're done! It's as easy as that and your tastebuds will greatly thank you too! BTW...(for showing off purposes) you can add a sprinkle of parsley like we did.

We used bay leaves as a garnish in the salsa! :)

Here is our first Monday Munchies! We can't wait to share our favorite snacks with you. Today we have a snack called:

Apple Smiles

These are a very fun snack! They will sure make kids smile!

Apple Smiles are made with 3 simple things: Apples (red or green), peanut butter and mini marshmallows:

Here's how to make them:

1. Slice up your apples into wedges.

2. Spread peanut butter over the side of one of the slices.

3. Place marshmallows (the teeth) where you want them on the peanut buttered apple.
4. Spread peanut butter on the side of another wedge and place on top of the marshmallows.
5. Eat!

Exciting News to Share with You!

Throughout our cardmaking processes, we've had many compliments and such about our cards and over the Easter weekend I was visiting family and my Aunt Pat gave me a great idea! She also scrapbooks and so I showed her some of our cards. "You know, you two could sell these," she said. We were very flattered and excited! We couldn't wait to get back home and start working on this project.

Tuesday Tips

It's our first Tuesday Tips and we hope you find this tip very helpful! I used to have a problem: cookies, potato chips, and whatever we baked on a pan, always stuck to the pan! It was such a hassle getting them to come off! Our good ol' friend 'Pam' Cooking Spray helped a little, but it wasn't enough. We have 2 'dos' and 1 'dont'... here's our dont:

We were on a mission to find out what kept our cookies from stickin'! And we've finally found an answer :) 2 answers actually :))

The first 'do' is Parchment Paper. I use Reynold's Parchment Paper:

The second 'do' is a Baking Mat that will last forever, unlike parchment paper, so you dont have to keep buying and buying something over and over:

KWerner Color Inspiration Challenge #48 again!

Today, as we were looking through all the creations we made last year, we came across two scrapbooking pages that were perfect for the Challenge. They had the perfect colors and were just too cute to not put them up. I don't know if we can put up more than one entry for the challenge but we are trying because we love all of our "scraps"! The first one was a scrapbook page for a picture of the musical that Blair and her friend was in.

The second one was of Blair flipping off a dock. (We need to get some of Carly apparently! Haha!)

Ideal Meals

This is our first "Ideal Meal". We will switch off between having delicious meals that you can make for dinner or different ways you can prepare your food. This is Carly's absolute favorite meal and we were kind of rushed since school's tomorrow so we decided to put up a recipe.

Chicken Piccata (or as she calls it...Lemon Chicken)

Ingredients:

*1 lb of chicken breast sliced thin

*2-4 cloves minced garlic

*1 large shallot minced fine

*1 cup of chicken broth

*1/4 cup of white wine

*juice of 1 lemon

*basil, oregano & pepper to taste

*flour

*1-2 tsp. of olive oil

*1 tbsp. of capers (optional)

Dust chicken with flour. Heat 1 tsp. oil on the oven on high and lightly brown chicken. Remove and set aside. Lower heat to medium. Add remaining oil. Saute garlic and shallots. Add seasonings and chicken. Turn up to high and add wine. Boil off alcohol. Add broth and lemon juice. Reduce until thickened. Add capers (optional). Serve.

Craft Corner!

Hey! It's our first Craft Corner! And so this week we tried something that could be given as a gift, used as a prize, decoration, etc. It's very versitile and it's called Cookies in a Jar! If you haven't ever made/seen anything like this, here's a picture of ours!

So here's what you will need and what you do:

Things you need:*

~quart size glass jar

~1 2/3 cups of flour

~3/4 tsp. of baking soda

~1/2 cup of white sugar

~1/2 cup of brown sugar

~1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips

~1 cup of miniture M&M's

*The things you need on the list above are what will be used to make one of these crafty jars. If you'd like to make two, three, ect... double, triple, etc the amounts.

What you do:

1. Combine the flour, baking soda, and white sugar in a bowl and stir lightly.

2. Put about half of this mixture in your jar and pack firmly.

3. Measure out 1/2 cup of brown sugar and drop on top of the white mixture in jar.

4. Spread out evenly and pack slightly this time.

5. Pour the remaining flour mixture on top. (Don't need to pack this layer.)

6. Pour the chocolate chips and M&M's in different patterns if you like.

7. Cover with the jar lid. (Screwed on pretty tight.)

8. Cut a piece of scrapbooking ribbon an punch a hole through an index card.

9. Include these directions on the index card:

>>>Preheat the oven to 375*F. Empty contents of jar into a large bowl. In a separate bowl combine 3/4 cup of butter, 1 1/2 eggs, and one tsp. of vanilla. Beat until creamy, then add to dry mixture and mix. Drop by tablespoonful onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes.

10. String the index card onto the ribbon.

11. Tie the ribbon around the top of the lid with a simple knot.

The Monthly Cookie!

Happy Easter!...just kidding. April Fools! But here's a cookie you can make especially for Easter.

Easter Nest Cookies

These tasteful cookies will leave you with a wonderful chocolatey memory. They can be made all different ways. Our favorite way was with the peanut butter but feel free to add chocolate chips, caramel or anything else that fits your tastebuds!

Here's the recipe to these tasty creations:

Ingredients:

*1 stick of butter

*1/2 cup of sugar

* 1/2 cup of brown sugar

*2 eggs

*1 tsp. of vanilla extract

*1 oz. of bittersweet chocolate (melted)

*1 1/3 of flour

*2 tbsp. of cocoa powder

*1/4 tsp. baking soda

*Pinch of salt

*3/4 cup of oats

*1 cup of flaked coconut (optional)

*Cadbury Mini Eggs (optional)

*Peeps (optional)

*Peanut Butter (optional)

*Chocolate Chips (optional)

***Cadbury Mini Eggs and PEeps go on top (you can choose what ever you want like maybe easter m&ms or something like that) and you can choose to mix in chocolate chips, peanut butter or both.

Preheat the oven to 350* Fahrenheit. Grease two baking sheets. Beat the butter and sugars. Add the eggs, vanilla extract and melted chocolate and beat until smooth.

Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt together and stir into the butter mixture. Stir the coconut (optional, chocolate chips (optional) and oats into the batter and mix to combine. Drop spoonfuls onto the baking sheets and shape into small rounds. Use a spoon to scoop out a tiny bit of peanut butter (optional) to drop onto the top of the cookie. Using a floured thumb, make an impression in the center of each cookie. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.

Take the cookies out of the oven and transfer to wire racks for cooling. When completely cool, fill the "nest" with the Cadbury Mini Eggs (optional) and/or the Peeps (optional).

Makes 2 dozen.
